LL Wrangler

DOB: 6/25/95
Sire: Thor, sired by Overwhelmer, out of Doherty 698
Dam: LL Texas Blaze, sired by Super Star, out of Liberty Symbol

"LL Wrangler" (DOB 6/25/95) was a wonderful herdsire for our ranch from 1997 to 2003. We have a number of his offspring and have now parted with him in order to expand the genetic base of the herd. During his time with us he developed a well deserved reputation for siring calves with extremely gentle and curious dispositions as well as thick frames, good conformation, and excellent lateral horn growth.

"Wrangler" has a tip to tip horn measurement of 63 3/4" on a 14.5" base. He combines that impressive horn statistic with a very gentle disposition, excellent conformation and frame size, flashy coloration, and a very strong pedigree.

"Wrangler", is a son of "Thor", an 1,800 pound bull with a tip to tip horn measurement of over 64". "Thor", in turn, is a son of "Overwhelmer", the great bull out of the famous cow, "Dougherty 698." "Overwhelmer" has been judged the third greatest bull of all time in terms of contributions to the breed (January/February, 1996 issue of the Texas Longhorn Journal). "Wrangler's dam is "LL Texas Blaze", a large framed black and white cow with 54" of twisting horns. She is a great milk producer and has tremendous longevity in her heavily Butler influenced pedigree.

When one looks at a truly long horned bull, it is often easy to see the impressive horn and to stop there. In Wrangler's case, the reason that so many highly regarded breeders have looked twice and have complimented us on "Wrangler" is that he is a complete bull. That is to say, "Wrangler" has the beefy hind quarter that is reminiscent of "Senator" (another "Overwhelmer" son), and he also has a clean top and bottom line, excellent scrotal development, a strong back, good conformation, and highly desirable coloration.

"Wrangler" gave us a high percentage of female calves, most of which developed excellent lateral horn growth on sizeable bases, good conformation, very beefy hind quarters, and sensational dispositions. Because of the success of his offspring, he has been widely recognized by breeders as one of the best bulls of his generation.

Wrangler is AI certified through the ITLA registry. Semen is available.
